containing the only objections and proposals which he

appears desirous to press since I gather from this letter

that he does not wish me to put forward additional object-

-ions raised in previous letters.

On the other hand contributors

who are in favour of the transfer have asked that the

following suggestions should be considered on the valua-

-tion now or hereafter to be made:-

(a).

that when contributors are drawing

half-pay their contributions should, without deduction of

Pension under the Tables, be made on their half-salary

only;

(b).

that the Pensions of Orphans

might be increased even at the expense of increased con-

-tributions. This suggestion is rade by certain married

contributors;

(c).

that a bachelor who subscribes

for 35 years or until the age of 65 should have some

greater concession made to him than merely recovering half

of his subscriptions;

(d).

that a widower without pensionable

children should be placed on the same footing as a bachelor

in the matter of refund of contributions.
